Net Talent are delighted to be working with a national business who are operational throughout the UK with a history dating back over 70 years. 

 

With over 10,000 employees, multi-billion pound turnover and strong digital presence, they are looking to solidify their security operations by adding a Security Operations Manager to their expert team of professionals based in Glasgow. 

 

We require someone with a strong SecOps background to lead a team of Security Engineers acting upon security alerts, working with relevant stakeholders to ensure any incidents, alarms or issues are resolved and vulnerabilities removed. 

The ideal candidate will be someone who has been involved in overcoming an incident from a SecOps perspective.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee team and Managed Detection and Response partners.
  • Ensure cyber incident response plans, playbooks, and procedures are best in class to ensure incidents are managed quickly and effectively.
  • Develop robust security operations capabilities and incident response processes.
  • Collaborate closely with IT teams to address vulnerabilities identified through penetration tests and vulnerability assessments.
  • Ensure all security events and incidents are handled in accordance with established procedures, including recommending and overseeing corrective actions.
  • Stay current on security concepts, tools, and best practices.
  • Oversee the production and delivery of daily/weekly security reports.
  • Manage vulnerability management processes, including compliance scanning and reporting.
  • Manage email security monitoring and manage the response to phishing incidents.

 

Skills Required:

  • Detect and prevent common attack techniques as per the MITRE ATT&CK framework.
  • Tuning and configuring cyber security tools, such us SIEM and EDR tooling, and how enterprise IT networks, Active Directory and Azure AD operate.
  • Vendor management.
  • Team leadership/ management experience.
