Cyber Security Team Lead, Glasgow/ Hybrid

The Cyber Security Team Leader will be responsible for technical operations and team leadership, managing the effective execution of global cyber security initiatives.

The role involves serving as the main point of contact for all cyber security issues, improving cyber security posture and delivering technical reports to senior stakeholders.

Additional duties include advising on best practices, overseeing daily team tasks, resource management, tracking performance, and coaching.

The leader will focus on delivering top-quality services, ensuring smooth change management, and driving continuous improvement, all while facilitating Agile practices and maintaining clear communication with stakeholders and the team.

 

Responsibilities;

  • Serve as the main point of contact for all cyber security operations issues and escalations.
  • Strengthen the Incident Response (IR) plan and playbooks, collaborate with subject matter experts to manage incidents, and ensure accountability in problem management within Cyber Security Operations.
  • Prepare technical reports for senior stakeholders.
  • Provide guidance on security best practices for various business service requests, ensuring compliance with relevant certifications.
  • Oversee and support daily activities across Security Engineering, Threat & Vulnerability Management, Data Loss Prevention, Secure Configuration, and Incident Detection & Response, managing team performance.
  • Work closely with the Senior Leadership Team, the Global Cyber Security Manager, and subject matter experts to achieve strategic goals.
  • Identify skill gaps and arrange training to improve team members' expertise.
  • Ensure the team follows security, change, and operational processes, proactively identifying risks and dependencies, and implementing measures to mitigate them.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to optimise workflows and enhance service delivery.

 

What we are looking for;

  • Experience and/or Cyber Security qualifications working with SIEM, Endpoint D&R, Managed Services, DLP etc
  • Strong technical team leader and people management skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, along with a track record of establishing and maintaining effective relationships and collaborating with stakeholders.
