Head of Software Development
Location: Scotland (can be remote - so long as you are within 1 hour of GMT and have full right to work in the UK)

They have huge growth plans, so this role will see you building out a larger team underneath you and helping to shape the full technical direction of the organisation through a hyper growth phase.
The role:
You will be a highly motivated and experienced Head of Software Development who is ready to take on the following:
- Becoming a central point of contact for technical questions across the board of the full product suite
- Managing and leading a team of Product Owners and Managers and through this, being accountable for delivery on budget on time
- Tight collaboration with an multidisciplinary team (Technical, Commercial, Research) and Customers Ownership and driving technical decision making, ensuring scalability and security the product suite
- Technological leadership, coaching and mentoring
- Having a major contribution to the vision and strategy and reporting on product progress achievements and opportunities as a member of the senior leadership team.
Your background and experience
You will be an experienced Technical leader, with diverse and relevant commercial experience - and have earned all the battle scars that go with it!
- A strong balance of technological and commercial awareness.
- Familiar with bringing a software product to market on budget on time. This role would be suitable for you if you are an experienced technical people manager keen to contribute both on a strategic and an operational level to a growing start up
- You will require excellent communication skills and the ability to influence key stakeholders and win them for your vision.
- The role combines both technological and people leadership so you will be comfortable and competent in both fields.
- You will work in an multidisciplinary team and you will be required to effectively collaborate and understand perspectives of a number of different stakeholders (technological, commercial, scientific).
Key Skills:
- Degree in relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
- Software Project Management abilities.
- Extensive experience leading commercial software development teams and people managers.
- Strong track record of delivering on budget, on time.
- Highly organised and meticulous.
- Strong communicator.
- Analytical and creative.
- Collaborative and team oriented.
