Global Group who are growing across the UK are looking to appoint an  IT Infrastructure Architect with overall responsibility for designing, gaining consensus for, and overseeing the implementation of the IT infrastructure strategy for the company.

 This includes on-premises data centre rationalisation and future evolution, public/private cloud adoption, WAN connectivity and the infrastructure integration for newly acquired businesses.



  • Map out the IT infrastructure strategy for the Group in conjunction with corporate standards, the overall Group IT strategy and in collaboration with the regional IT management
  • Maintain the overall IT infrastructure road map for the Company, adjusting it to accommodate changing business needs and opportunities provided by the IT marketplace considering local regulations, data-residency requirements, privacy requirements etc
  • Ensure a security driven focus is a priority consideration in all infrastructure related projects with end-to-end security assessments implemented as part of normal operations and new technology implementations
  • Collaborate with the relevant IT stakeholders in developing lower-level strategies for infrastructure segments such as Data Centres, Cloud adoption, Compute, Storage, WAN etc.
  • Create and maintain a set of standards for IT infrastructure and assist in their adoption / deployment throughout the Group
  • Perform the role of end-to-end design authority for IT infrastructure projects
  • Oversee the design and implementation of infrastructure related projects, considering supportability and the availability of skills to troubleshoot and maintain
  • Define and oversee the infrastructure integration requirements of newly acquired businesses into Element
  • Review infrastructure project progress including quality of deliverables and project success factors, working closely working with Project Manager on delivery management
  • Carry out demonstrations, proofs-of-concept and briefings related to infrastructure evolution and provide strong liaison with The Groups suppliers that support the infrastructure



  • Significant experience in an Infrastructure Architect position or in a role that encompassed Infrastructure Architecture responsibilities
  • Certified TOGAF (or equivalent) practitioner
  • Strong experience with the Microsoft cloud environment is essential (ideally certified Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect)
  • Successful track record in data centre, end-user compute and network transformation projects
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills, balanced by an understanding of business context
  • Flexible approach with proven ability to succeed in a fast-moving ever-changing environment
  • Effective design governance skills - awareness and understanding of the change management challenges involved in managing complex business transformations with strategies to ensure successful adoption
  • Stakeholder management skills - ability to manage a geographically dispersed stakeholder population at multiple levels with a demonstrated ability to influence at a senior level
