Job Title: IT Project Manager

Location: UK-Edinburgh

 

Overview:

Our Edinburgh based client has an opportunity for an IT Project Manager to join our team in Edinburgh, responsible for managing the delivery of IT Integration and Transformation projects. The portfolio of projects includes, but is not limited to, new business systems implementations, infrastructure upgrades, Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) integration and site relocations requiring management of internal and 3rd party resources in global locations.

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead business analysis, project management, governance and assurance across a portfolio of IT projects
  • Manage internal & 3rd party teams ensuring timely and complete delivery to agreed project scope, requirements, schedules, success criteria, costs and quality objectives
  • Coordinate and production of project documentation including business case, requirements, designs, plans, reports and service transition material
  • Formulate the project budget and regular re-estimation of forecast ensuring efficient and effective use of capital expenditure whilst protecting time and quality
  • Management and anticipation of risks, issues and dependencies that could threaten a project's delivery, taking appropriate actions to overcome delays or challenges
  • Manage business change and ensuring the transition and handover of projects deliverables into operational service is facilitated successfully.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, and suppliers to build motivated project teams with a shared focus on achieving results
  • Provide transparent and timely communication to drive effective project team and stakeholder engagement, improve decision making efficiency and minimising issues
  • Chair and facilitate productive and objective driven project meetings and workshops
  • Capture and act upon recommendations arising from post implementation reviews to support continuous improvement
  • Adhere to all Regulatory, Security and Compliance requirement

 

Qualifications:

  • Significant experience in project management
  • Significant experience of Merger or Acquisition (M&A) IT integration & transformation
  • Prince 2 Practitioner and/or APM PMQ Qualified
  • Excellent knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies (e.g. waterfall / agile)
  • Significant experience in working with and managing IT 3rd party service providers
  • Great communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to handle difficult or sensitive situations
  • Excellent influencing and negotiation skills
  • Strong analysis and decision-making skills with keen attention to detail
  • Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills with the ability to work with minimal supervision with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
