The Company: 

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a well established MSP who provide high quality security solution services to large public and private organisations across the UK. 

Employing over 130 individuals over the UK to feed into exciting workstreams with clients that have a great standing in the markets they operate within. 

 

The Location:

Glasgow, City Centre

Currently Remote due to COVID 

Will Require travel to Client site on occassion 

 

Salary: 

£30,000 - £35,000

 

The Role: 

The role will require the successful individual to work with internal and external stakeholders to plan and lead customer deployments. Working to the highest of security principles the role will involve arranging meetings with customer technical teams to plan, document and deploy SIEM, EDR, Vulnerability Management, Threat Intelligence Systems, Core Infrastructure and Network Security.

In addition to this the Security Engineer will work with internal and external support teams to develop, deploy and maintain the Security infrastructure.

The role will be Monday - Friday Business hours - Does not operate Shift work but may require occassional weekend work/on call work 

 

Key Skills:

• Understand the challenges customers face when securing networks and services against cyber threats

• Maintaining performance when under stress and managing time effectively through the application of organisation and planning skills

• Experience architecting and maintaining SIEM Technology 

• Excellent TCP/IP networking skills 

• Proficiency in PowerShell and/or Python

• Excellent understanding of virtual infrastructure

• Excellent understanding of Windows and Linux logging policies

• A working knowledge of web API technologies

• A working knowledge of vulnerability management solutions

• A working knowledge of firewall technologies

 

Desired Skills: 

• A degree in a computer science related subject or equivalent experience

• Experience working within a SOC (preferred) or an information security team or IT team

• Experience working in an IT infrastructure team

• Hands on experience with LogRhythm, or similar SIEM

• Certifications for a leading SIEM technology

• Certifications on any of the following Microsoft Server technology, Linux Server technology, cloud infrastructure, virtual infrastructure, firewall technology or any other enterprise class infrastructure.

• Knowledge of SOC maturity frameworks and models

• Experience with EDR or anti-virus solutions

• An understanding of the security threat landscape
