IT Security Manager (Cyber)

  • Flexible - working from home (must be able to get into the office when necessary - Central belt applicants only)

This is a new opportunity for an IT Security Manager to work with the Head of IT to shape and deliver IT Security for this Group, involving implementation, management and monitoring of security solutions, identifying secuity threats, compliance and identying and putting in place process and procedures. 

  • Responsible for improving IT Security within the Company and working with the Head of Architecture and Security to identify and implement any security recommendations
  • Day to day execution of operational security tasks across multiple areas including threat and vulnerability management, anti-virus management, security monitoring etc.
  • Responsible for the input and creation of IT Security policies, procedures and security hardening standards and ensuring those are consistently applied across the estate.
  • Responsible for leading on compliance and audit activities with internal stakeholders and external auditors
  • Conduct IT Security reviews of new or existing systems including cloud based systems.
  • Monitor industry security updates, technologies and best practices to improve IT Security
  • Support the IT team to keep information security infrastructure up to date with emerging threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Increase the levels of understanding of IT Security with end users, leading to improved user interactions and overall experience with IT Security.
  • Responsible for managing suppliers and maintain operating systems and patching to correct levels
  • Provision of monthly IT Security management information to Head of Security & Architecture and IT Director
  • Working with 3rd party vendors within the Group and if required advising 3rd parties on relevant security updates.
  • Responsible for diagnosing and quickly resolution of IT Security related issues.
  • Provide IT Security inputs, assurance and guidance to IT projects where appropriate. Including collaboration in design, implementation, change and support handover.
  • Provide support and direction to the Service Desk team when dealing with IT Security requests and issues.
  • Maintain rolling plan of IT Security maturity improvements

Skills:

  • Technical, analytical, interpersonal and organisation skills required.
  • Experience working within a Cyber Rick/Compliance/Audit/Technical role 
  • Knowledge and exposure to building and maintaining IT Security technologies.
  • Knowledge of Windows 7\8\10, Windows 2008\2012\2016
  • Ability to liaise with 3rd Party Vendors
  • End-point anti-virus management.
  • Exposure to services running in a cloud based environment.
  • Ability to communicate in an understandable, polite and friendly manner, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work well with others, as well as independently.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure with competing priorities in a 24x7 environment.
  • Excellent documentation skills.
  • Strong problem solving abilities.
  • Solid understanding of the network technologies stack, e.g. TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLan’s.
  •  Cyber security accreditation or certification.(can and will be provided if not already obtained)
