My client, a global leader in their field, who have recently experienced extensive growth through acquisition, are looking to add another member to their technical service desk team. You will be an affable and outgoing individual who can manage their own work-load, and genuinely want to try and resolve issues prior to escalating them.

It is quite a broad technical role and you will be responsible to support IT operations by providing hardware, software and network administration support.

  • Confers with department / divisions to identify IT needs and recommend hardware / software solutions or changes
  • Create backup policies and configure NT Backup & Symantec tape backup
  • Windows Server 2003 / 2008 / 2012 ADS administration, assigned user accounts and granted permissions to shared resources
  • Install, manage and troubleshoot Active Directory, DHCP server, DNS
  • Purchase software licensing and tracked licensing compliance
  • Maintain system tape backups and implemented disaster recovery
  • Creating backup policies / backup scheduling and maintenance for all applications. Set up group policy preferences for mapping network drives & installing printers

  • Support remote user issues via Gover Lan, TeamViewer and Dame ware. Remotely push software to computers silently
  • Set up group policy preferences for time zone, wallpaper, desktop / IE shortcuts and power options
  • Set up GPO for restricting users from changing profile settings.

Obviously we don’t expect experience in all of the above, but a demonstrable willingness to learn as well as a good broad technical knowledge would be highly beneficial. As would any relevant certifications.
