Lead Developer – AWS Support Team

Permanent

Edinburgh/Glasgow (Currently Remote)

The Role is looking for a software developer to lead a small team who will be looking after customer’s AWS environments. The team consists of support analysts & engineers and they are responsible for on-boarding and then managing applications & infrastructure on AWS. A developer is needed to head up this team. This would be a perfect role for mid-level or senior developers who would like to gain team leadership experience but are finding it difficult getting into that kind of role. 

 

The Responsibilities:

  • Develop applications & solutions
  • Participate in solution architecture & design processes
  • Manage the build & release of software
  • Being technical point of escalation internally & externally
  • Team leadership & leadership
  • Be involved in team recruitment where necessary

 

The Company has a very strong reputation managing digital change, cloud/infrastructure delivery, & software solutioning. You would have access to projects across multiple sectors within Scottish tech. The Training could also be a considerable selling point to the right person with the opportunity to gain commercial experience with DevOps tools like CloudWatch, Elasticsearch, Terraform, Ansible, Docker, & CloudFormation. Opportunities for certifications in technologies will also be provided (particularly AWS).  

 

The Experience/Skills below are required:

  • Any form of substantial AWS experience (can be engineering, supporting, monitoring, etc)
  • Experience developing or supporting development of applications
  • Can be across any development languages (Python/Java/Ruby/C#/etc)
  • Strong people/leadership skills
  • Enthusiasm and keenness to improve
