Network Security Engineer

Permanent

Job Purpose: 

We are an exciting Scottish business who operate within the fast-growing Cyber Security sector.  We specialise in providing Cyber Security services to the UK market, operating across most sectors but mainly investment banking, FSI’s and Defence and Government.  Due to our continued success and appetite for growth we are looking to recruit a Network and Cyber Security Engineer, with a keen interest in Cyber security and a hunger to learn.  This role is an excellent opportunity for career development and a step into a successful career within the cyber security sector.   

Main Duties & Responsibilities. Other Duties May Be Assigned.
 

  • Working with the Service Delivery Team on customer project delivery activities as well as support of customer firewalls and security appliances
  • Liaise with external customers to understand technical requirements
  • Design and implement network solutions to meet customer requirements
  • Provide level 3 support to investigate and diagnose network related incidents reported by customers

Qualifications and experience

  • Min. 2 years' experience in Cyber Security or network engineering role
  • Min. CCNA certified, CCNP certified or working towards CCNP beneficial
  • Experience with one or more firewall technologies – Fortinet, Cisco ASA/FTD, Checkpoint, PaloAlto.
  • Experience with router, switch and load-balancer configuration, troubleshooting and administration.
  • Python scripting
  • Linux / Windows system management.
  • Working knowledge on project delivery processes
  • Working knowledge of ITIL processes
  • Can hold (or already have) UK Government Clearance to SC level.
