Salary: up to £50,000



The Role:

We’re on the lookout for an operational resilience analyst to join our client's cyber security and resilience team.  Our client is looking for someone who pays attention to the detail of how things work and enjoys solving potential problems before they can have any impact.

You'll have experience in producing end to end process maps, identifying potential sources of disruption and building up a bigger picture for the whole company from these individual components. Operational resilience is a big area of focus for their regulator at the moment, and this is an opportunity to help influence how they meet these requirements.  This role requires you to develop awareness of their operational model, internal core systems, existing controls, processes and procedures to help understand and improve resilience capabilities. This will include mapping existing processes across teams, identifying potential sources of harms, conducting tabletop exercises to test assumptions, and maintaining documentation.  You'll also get involved with reviewing the resilience of outsourced services and vendors.

This role is extremely varied, day to day you’ll spend your time:

  • Working with all teams to document how their processes contribute to the end to end delivery of important business services
  • Learning the current processes and how it works today
  • Using that information to improve their understanding of what could impact these services and lead to harm to clients, the market, or the company
  • Conducting tabletop exercises to validate assumptions about impacts
  • Developing continuous improvement plan to strengthen their resilience
  • Embedding operational resilience thinking into teams and decision making

We’ve always placed more importance on cultural contribution above technical ability, but they would really like you to have/be:

  • Experience of creating process maps and facilitating exercises to produce them
  • A good understanding of financial services processes and the impacts when things go wrong
  • Experience conducting tabletop exercises to validate process maps
  • Experience of project management, documentation and reporting
  • The ability to work well with others and building relationships
  • The ability to work under pressure, good work ethic and high levels of motivation
  • A team player, approachable, helpful and willing to go the extra mile
  • Knowledge of using collaboration tools such as Jira, Wiki, MS365 Office (desirable)
  • Experience of threat modelling and the MITRE ATT&CK framework would be beneficial, but not essential
