Role: Operational Analyst (Cyber Security BA) 

Location: Edinburgh or Glasgow (Hybrid work)

Role and Company:

Net Talent are partnered with an award winning FinTech company, their product is very innovative within financial investments and they are growing at an exciting rate, which is why they are keen to grow their Cyber Security team. We are supporting their search to find enthusiastic, motivated Cyber Security professionals for their security team.

 

The Operational Analyst is an important role within this team and will play a key role in meeting requirements from the financial regulators. Key duties will include:

 

  • Understanding Cyber Security risks and providing solutions to solve potential problems
  • Develop an understanding of their operational model, internal systems, controls, processes and procedures to help understand and improve on their resilience capabilities
  • Analysing controls, identifying sources of threats, conducting tests, recording information and sharing insight across the company

 

They are ideally looking for someone who is comfortable working independently, ideally someone with a minimum of 2 years’ experience within a security analysis environment.

 

Good to have:

  • Experience of creating process maps and facilitating exercises to produce them
  • A good understanding of financial services processes and the impacts when things go wrong
  • Experience conducting tabletop exercises to validate process maps
  • Experience of project management, documentation and reporting
  • The ability to work well with others and building relationships
  • The ability to work under pressure, good work ethic and high levels of motivation
  • A team player, approachable, helpful and willing to go the extra mile
  • Knowledge of using collaboration tools such as Jira, Wiki, MS365 Office (desirable)
  • Experience of threat modelling and the MITRE ATT&CK framework would be beneficial, but not essential
