This opportunity will see you working within a large, multi-national corporation specialising in the management of complex technology programmes. You’ll be responsible for supporting the delivery and strategy of software systems that will drive the country’s single most important domestic data project. This project will have far reaching outcomes; affecting both popular perception and government policy. In short, a great project with a great company!

The main responsibilities you will take on will involve maintaining strong working relationships and liaising between teams and stakeholders; providing adequate reports through the analysis and summary of trends; and identify and document risks and issues. The following technical responsibilities will also be a major part of the role:

  • Analyzing requirements; constructing workflow charts and diagrams; studying system capabilities; writing specifications for system architecture
  • Provide recommendations to enhance or improve to legacy systems by studying current workflows and designs and determining inefficiencies.
  • Develop process/control changes by identifying gaps/issues/areas for improvement; writing improved processes.
  • Participate in code reviews to assist in the identification of software errors and provide guidance on fixes

The successful candidate will come ideally from a software engineer background or have some form of experience or knowledge of delivering software systems. They will be capable communicators who have no problem in client-facing roles where other soft skills such as the ability to negotiate and build relationships are important. Exposure or usage of the following technologies would also be well sought after:

  • Experience and core knowledge of change management principles, methodologies and tools.
  • Familiarity with project management approaches, tools and phases of the project lifecycle including Agile.
  • Technical Management Tools such as JIRA Agile/Version One, TOAD, Rally (Requirements Management), Version Manager, and Serena Business Manager (SBM)
  • Usability Software such as Microsoft Professional Suite including Project, VISIO, Word, Excel and SharePoint (2010 or newer)
  • Software languages such as MySQL (Maria) JAVA, JAVA Script, C/C++, Unix/Linux, XML, HTML, Ajax and/or other front-end skills, Shell Scripting, Perl Scripting, PBS Pro Workflow, Tomcat, Web Services Development
