Security Analyst

Various levels of experience required

Circa £18k - £33k + benefits

Glasgow city centre

An organisation with over 20 years' of experience providing cutting edge security solutions throughout the UK, are currently growing their Security Analyst team in Glasgow. You will be joining a rapidly expanding SOC function, which will offer you fantastic opportunities to get your hands on a very wide range of technology, as well as opportunities to progress into more senior roles including engineer, consultant, and pre-sales.

Offering solutions covering cloud security, vulnerability scanning, compliance and standards, and data security, my client has partnered with many of the most recognisable security partners in the world to provide robust, and tailored solutions to their end-clients needs.

In Glasgow, we currently require an entry level analyst, and a slightly more experienced analyst, maybe with a few years of experience, to join the 24/7 SOC team. You will be the first point of contact for any client security issues, where you will be responsible for triage, escalation, or resolution. You will conduct initial investigations, follow security playbooks, and utilise current and historic data to resolve issues, or forward then to tier 2 support.

To be considered for these roles, you will demonstrate the following technical and soft-skills:

  • A keen interest in cyber-security, ideally with a computing science degree
  • An ability to take a consultative approach to client support
  • An understanding if what SIEM is, and what the purpose of event logging is
  • Knowledge of DDoS mitigation controls, and Malware

Furthermore, given the business focus of the end clients, successful candidates must be eligible to achieve UK Government Security Clearance to at least SC level, and also be willing to work on shift basis which may include evenings and weekends.

You will be rewarded with a solid salary and benefits package, but perhaps more importantly at this level, genuine exposure to technology, defined career paths, and opportunities to work on UK-wide projects.
