SQL Database Developer

My client, a family run, global organisation based out of Glasgow are in a period of IT growth, having recently won a number of new UK-wide contracts.
At present they require a Database Specialist to join their team on a contract basis.
The position is a senior Database Specialist, looking for expert experience in developing SQL Server, and Azure, as well as good knowledge of SQL analysis and .Net.
To be considered, you will have comprehensive experience in the following:
- Strong knowledge of TSQL, Database Design principal, performance tuning and optimization skills, experience working within the Azure platform (IAAS and PAAS)
- Years of experience working with MS SQL server (all versions) and best use of Azure as a DB Platform
- Ability to design database structures, ensuring stability, reliability, and performance
- Ability to review of the current database design and a strategic plan of action to improve the overall application's performances
- Ability to fix any issues related to database performance and provide corrective measures as part of the development process, including index strategies
- Develop best practices for database design and development activities
- Prepare documentation for the applications including related services, functions and databases
- Relevant experience developing OLTP databases
- Good understanding of .NET code and how it interacts with SQL
