The Role

This role is looking for a team lead for a startup service desk team who will be looking after customer’s AWS environments. The role will be to support a small team as they on-board and then manage infrastructure on AWS. The company has a very strong reputation managing digital change & cloud migrations in the Scottish tech sector & you would have access to some interesting & high-profile projects.

The Progression & Training

A major selling point of this role is that when customer numbers are low, the team will spend time training and working towards certifications in technology such as AWS and Docker which will allow the successful candidate to progress to DevOps type work after a year or 2 if this is something they desire. There would also be on-call work on a rotational basis.

The Skills

  • Linux system administration experience/ skills
  • Experience supporting/ working with AWS 
  • Experience in a similar service desk leadership role is a big bonus
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot issues (not just triage & pass onto 2nd/3rd level engineers)
  • Decent networking knowledge
