Currently working from home with teams from Glasgow & Edinburgh, once offices return it will be a hybrid model mixing remote & some office time.
Quite different from the usual software QA, with the successful candidate due to take ownership over the testing of financial models that the company is producing.
The Responsibilities
The tester will become a subject matter expert in the company’s modelling systems whilst doing functional testing (business logic & calculation methodology) and non-functional testing (UX & system performance). This will include (amongst other things) preparing test plans & documentation, maintaining regression packs, executing tests, test estimations & end user support where relevant. Throughout this, the tester will be looking for automation opportunities for increased efficiency.

Learning Opportunities
The technologies used across these products generally involve R models, Docker, APIs, & Angular. Experience of these technologies are required but would be a bonus.
Examples of a strong background for this role:

- Experience as a tester within actuarial or statistical teams
- History of testing pension or investment applications/products
- Actuary/ actuarial science background – either professionally or academically
