The Role
This Solution Architect & Designer opportunity is with one of Britain's fast growing companies within Digital Banking.
Taking high level business requirements and turning this into solution design whilst taking care of architectural governance.
Working between high & medium level designs across multiple systems before passing down or across for other colleagues to work at low level.
This role is more about finding solutions to specific business issues/ challenges rather than long term strategy (although someone with an eye for the big picture is always great!)
Working with core banking systems & standard banking estate. Much of this job will involve looking at the end-to-end architecture. In other words, more focus on how systems interact & the flow of data/tasks through them.
Further Responsibilities
- Owning, documenting, & delivering key design artefacts
- Working with stakeholders & finding architecturally compliant solutions to business problems.
- Driving & owning feature/product design & delivery
- Balancing customer experience with banking regulations
- Automate 1st mindset
- Identifying risks & threats
- Coaching, mentoring & knowledge sharing
Key Skills/ Experience
- Must have some form of Solution Design & Architecture experience
- Very strong technical background – ideally from software/application (likely with a history in software development but this is not a necessity).
- Awareness of networking & infrastructure is big bonus
- Especially within DevOps/ automation environments where AWS is used.
- Financial background would be nice (especially Payments experience)
- Someone who keeps up to date with banking technology trends (eg, mobile multi-factor authentication & behavioural biometrics)
- Very strong communicator, able to work with & across multiple different levels of colleagues & stakeholders including the very technical the non-technical.
- Presentation skills are useful
