The position will be ideally suited to someone who has several years’ experience in an IT support field, having a natural ability to forge relationships with end users, has a knack for creating clear documentation and can handle changing priorities within the business.

Responsibilities:
End User Support

  • Providing some 1st and 2nd line IT support to end users when time-sensitive issues arise.
  • Interfacing with staff at all levels and able to provide basic IT training.
  • Escalating faults to the appropriate person or helpdesk.
  • Supporting over 180 users across 7 sites around Scotland.
  • Liaising with 3rd party software vendors and the MSP.

IT Administration and Project Work

  • PC/Laptop/Mobile builds and hardware asset management.
  • Software deployment.
  • Intune Administration.
  • Security monitoring and management.
  • Server Software Configuration.
  • Assisting Group Head of Business Systems with ongoing project work as required.
  • Other tasks as needed.
  • On occasion, some travel to other depots.

Requirements

  • Excellent attention to detail – you spot things most people don’t.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills – you understand that people skills are just as important as technical know-how.
  • A great team player – you help others and know when to ask for help.
  • A passion for technology; you’ll be ahead of the curve with any new technology advances and solutions relevant to the business and eager to learn new technologies.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Self-motivated – you’re willing to take a project and own it.
  • A ‘can-do’ attitude with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.

Technical Requirements

  • Active Directory and associated technologies such as Group Policy.
  • Physical infrastructure: Servers, SANs and switching
  • SharePoint administration
  • Cloud technologies: Extensive experience in Office 365, OneDrive, Azure, Intune, and MS Defender 365
  • Some knowledge of virtualisation (Hyper-V)

Desirable

  • 3rd Line experience
  • Server software configuration
  • Cisco Meraki
  • EDI experience
  • Autopilot / OSD Cloud
  • Understanding of Cyber Essentials security accreditation
  • MS System Centre (SCCM, SCOM, SCVMM, SCDPM)
  • HP hardware experience (Server/SAN/Desktop)
  • MS Certifications
  • Azure AD
