Due to ambitious growth plans for 2024, they are looking to add a Principal Consultant to their team.  This can be a home-based role anywhere in the UK.  This will require someone who knows IT Security and how it is implemented while being capable of recommending solutions to a varied client base.   There's a big focus on 

 

The Principal Consultant is responsible for delivering high-quality professional services engagements across both the Cyber and Information Security realms. They are also here to coach junior consultants within engagements, to help refine consultancy offerings and to offer current and prospective customers a professional touch point.

 

We are looking for proven Security Consultants keen to evolve into Fractional CISOs to work with a varied client base advising on the Microsoft security stack. 

 

Position:

A seasoned technical leader in cybersecurity with specialized knowledge in threat-led detection and response, capable of serving as a proficient technical advisor and lead for intricate customer engagements.

 

The role encompasses a diverse range of responsibilities, including overseeing and advising on deployments of Sentinel monitoring solutions tailored to unique requirements (such as Operational Technology monitoring), identifying strategies to fulfil customers' threat detection needs by translating from existing SIEM/SOAR solutions, and assisting in extracting security insights from our current service delivery.

 

Additionally, the role may involve stepping into challenging situations to assist in resolving customer concerns effectively. Key requirements include strong leadership abilities, excellent stakeholder management skills, and the capacity to communicate clearly and concisely with both customers and internal teams.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the coordinating technical lead and advisor internally and on customer projects, fostering close collaboration with delivery teams—including onboarding, the SOC, and the PMO—to ensure successful project delivery and achievement of desired outcomes aligned with project scope and agreed-upon deliverables.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with customers at all levels, comprehensively understanding their unique project needs and challenges to uphold high standards.
  • Act as a trusted advisor and critical friend to customer stakeholders, offering strategic and technical guidance to support them throughout their cybersecurity journey. Remain available to customers throughout the project lifecycle and beyond, as needed.
  • Interpret core customer goals and devise practical solutions accordingly, articulating the benefits of consultancy services and approach in addressing customer needs.
  • Ensure coherence of the client portfolio to ensure a seamless and fit-for-purpose customer experience.
  • Collaborate closely with the Solution Director for MDR and MXDR services to strike a balance between customer needs, service roadmaps, and delivery capability.
  • Possess the capability to step into challenging projects midway and swiftly turn them around.
  • Collaborate with SOC and SDM teams to extract security insights and recommendations for customers, contributing to their security strategy and suggesting additional services where applicable.
  • Support complex pre-sales efforts (working with pre-sales and PM teams) involving multiple services and unique requirements, ensuring effective planning and deliverability.
  • Provide subject matter expertise across domains, including network security, identity and access management, data protection, threat detection, incident response, etc.
  • Ultimately, demonstrate teamwork and provide support as needed within the organization.

 

 

Requirements:

  • Vast technical expertise gained through extensive work experience in the cybersecurity field.
  • Profound knowledge spanning across key cybersecurity domains.
  • Proven track record in providing Detection and Response services, offering senior-level consultancy, and crafting solutions tailored for large enterprises.
  • Demonstrated experience in collaborating with and presenting to CISOs, C-suite executives, and technical teams, while fostering strong relationships.
  • Robust familiarity with the Microsoft Defender and Sentinel ecosystems.
  • Exceptional consultative and communication skills, coupled with the ability to adeptly negotiate to address diverse goals and requirements.
  • Capability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, consistently delivering results even under challenging time constraints.
