After 15 years in Business Support recruitment, 11 of those spent with the same business, I knew I was ready for a brand new challenge and I knew that I wanted technology to be a big part of that challenge.
So I joined a tech start up business, who had developed a video recruitment platform, as their Sales Director and while I loved the product and the team, I realised pretty quickly that I really missed working in recruitment.
I’ll be forever grateful that I tried something new as it gave me the clarity that I was searching for, that I love recruitment. I didn’t need to leave the industry, I needed to leave the sector.
The move into Technology recruitment was a considered one and I had actually been looking at it for about a year before securing the job as Director at Net Talent. The world is changing – every single day – and technology is at the forefront of that. I want to work with the businesses and the people who are changing our world – for the better.
It’s only been 4 weeks and I’m already mind blown about the work some of our clients are doing. Granted, it’s a challenging candidate market, more so than ever before but that is what I was chasing. I love the challenge and the feeling of confirming my first interviews in week 2 was brilliant.
I’m surrounded by a team of extremely talented, knowledgeable and supportive recruiters so I know the environment is setting me up for success and our CEO has been doing this for years so who better to learn from than someone who is so good at Technology recruitment and is the co -founder of Net Talent.
I’m someone who needs to feel inspired to produce my best work and I can safely say, I feel more inspired now than I have done in a long time.
The right environment and support shouldn’t be underestimated – it really can change everything!
