Net Talent are partnering with a global technology company that specialises in customer engagement and actionable intelligence software. Their software simplifies and modernises customer engagement in order to enhance loyalty and business performance. Our client is looking for an Application Support Engineer who will work as part a team and engage directly with our clients to deliver a world class customer support experience.

Duties:

  • Utilise software engineering skills to support company products
  • Manage support ticket queue, ensuring that tickets are frequently updated
  • Liaise with customers and 3rd party suppliers to ensure smooth resolution of issues
  • Carry out testing of the solution and create supporting documentation
  • Actively contribute to team meetings and workshops to encourage proliferation of knowledge
  • Perform restarts & releases to customer environments, which will often be outside of normal working hours
  • Provide expertise on other technologies and deliver training to the team e.g. Relational Databases
  • Support and Mentor Graduate Application Support Engineers in carrying out straightforward support tasks

Expertise Required/Desired:

  • Experience of software development within a team is essential
  • A degree or post graduate qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline is desirable
  • Experience of software debugging is desirable
  • Experience of root cause analysis is desirable
  • Experience of a Linux operating system is desirable
  • Experience of unit testing and TDD is desirable
  • Experience of continuous integration systems is desirable
  • Experience of all stages of the Software Development Lifecycle is desirable
  • Experience of using SQL and relational database technologies e.g. SQL Server, Oracle is desirable
