Responsible for
• Ensure 1st class engineering is embedded throughout the entire product development lifecycle and across our full product suite.
• Blackford Delivery model operates across our own Product Development as well as bespoke and OEM channel partner projects. This role encompasses all projects running concurrently.
• Blackford operates a SCRUM team model with Tech Leads in each team. This role is responsible for the line management of all Tech Leads and for the growth and career development of all technical team members through the development of an effective career development program.
• Lead the team in ensuring all development activities meet highest quality standards within a highly regulated environment
• Supporting Technical leads and teams to approach and resolve the most complex engineering problems
• Lead the ongoing creation and evolution of high quality development environment
• Working alongside product development leadership team ongoing improvement initiatives helping to shape the team to optimise our potential.
Required Knowledge / Experience Essential:
• Software Development or Computer Science degree, or relevant experience
• Significant commercial experience in an engineering leadership role as a lead developer or principal engineer
• Experience in delivering high quality software development projects in a lean product development environment
• Solid software development experience
• Very strong experience of programming languages (C++, C# or Java)
• Familiar with agile software development, SCRUM, KANBAN, DevOps, CI, TDD
• Experience of working within regulatory guidelines, such as ISO13485 or equivalent regulatory environmen
