Product Manager

Very competitive salary

Equity, flexible work, autonomy, and an environment centred on learning and self-development.

If you want a high-impact product role with a fast-growing and innovative SaaS company, that would enable ample space for creative problem solving, trouble-shooting, challenges pertaining to vertical search, as well as user-focused research and design, then you should be considering this opportunity.

Backed by some of Scotland’s leading investment groups, this tech company combines application development and Machine Learning to collect, cleanse, and make sense of data for a range of financial institutions looking to gain the most accurate asset valuations possible.

Their proprietary data platform utilises cutting edge techniques to mine for otherwise hidden intelligence on private capital markets, providing efficient and auditable insights, enabling visualisations, and also supporting modelling for future scenarios.

They are experiencing tremendous growth, but with this comes on-going challenges and new obstacles to overcome. You’d work in conjunction with engineering, sales, and other areas of the business, to understand issues around usability, feature uptake or adjustment, and act as the evangelist for quality across all aspects of the platform.

You’ll have a tactical mind-set. In practise, this means you will understand what sort of research is required, what resource is needed to action your findings, and you’ll be a natural at communicating to a broad audience about what needs to be done, and why. You'll focus on the practical, being constantly hands-on at the very coalface of the product.

An appreciation for quality product design is a bonus. With this, you will truly be able to hit the ground running and add immediate value. Alternatively, a strong background in business or systems analysis, or even time spent as an engineer, would provide a solid platform to enjoy success in this role.

You’ll also be sceptical of dogma, and able to balance your drive for perfection with the pragmatism required for a fast-growth start-up.

In a nutshell, you should give consideration to this if you:

  • Have c.1 years’ experience in a Product Management role
  • Have previous experience as a BA, UX Designer, Researcher, or even Software Engineer
  • Appreciate the teething problems associated with fast-growth SaaS products
  • Enjoy focusing on quality – rather than quantity
  • An added bonus point if you have worked on vertical search before, or even have an interest in that field
