Net Talent are looking for a QA Engineer to join our client’s technology team on their award winning translation platform.
The QA Engineer will be working within the Technology Department, verifying that software products operate as designed. In this role, you will provide technical expertise in testing and product knowledge, offer accurate estimates and reports of test progress, you will write Test Procedures, Test Plans and Test Automation Scripts.
As part of the role you will:
● Test software releases during the Application Development Process
● Report test results and enters problems and issues in Jira
● Monitor and updates bug reports as needed including bug report closure
● Write or assist in the development of test plans and test procedures
● Participate in Sprint Planning and Sprint Retrospective meetings as per the Application Development Process
● Complete assigned test-related tasks
● Create automation scripts and develop test automation framework
Sometimes you will also need to:
● Configure necessary hardware and operating environments as needed to complete assigned testing
● Provide technical expertise on specific products, operating systems and specialized environments
● Assist in review of test processes as they are developed
What do you need to succeed:
● Experience developing test automation scripts, or other programming experience in Java
● Experience with testing methodologies and the defect reporting process
● Previous use of Selenium software or similar automated testing software
● Familiarity using virtualisation software, such as Docker, or others
● Demonstrable problem solving skills in a time-critical, technology led environment
● Good organisational skills, with the ability to work independently as well as in a highly collaborative, team-based environment
● Good written and verbal communication skills
● Demonstrable ability to analyse a problem and complete detailed reports
● Able to adapt to the changing needs of a project and to meet deadlines
● Show initiative in gaining in-depth experience in areas of technology relevant to testing of company products
Nice to have skills:
● Knowledge of the ftp, http, ssh, imap, pop3, smtp protocols
● Previous use of a Linux based operating system
● A technical (Computer science, Engineering, Science, Maths) university degree
● Experience managing databases and scripting the creation of test data
● Experience using Atlassian Jira for bug reporting
