Senior Director Engineering

Summary:

Net Talent are partnering with an international technology company who are a world leader in customer engagement software. This position will play a crucial role in the research and development activities of the company. You will work in cross functional teams to design, develop and implement innovative web-based applications. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Define and shape the technical roadmap for your product area, aligning it with the company's and R&D department's OKRs.
  • Manage and optimize the cost structure within your product area, including resources, infrastructure, and development.
  • Engage directly with customers in the retail and banking sectors to understand their needs and translate these into robust technical solutions.
  • Assist the pre-sales team with RFPs and address technical inquiries related to your product area.
  • Evaluate the feasibility of requirements and provide expert technical advice during the pre-sales process.
  • Lead and inspire multiple international scrum teams, fostering a culture of Agile methodologies, high performance, and technical excellence.
  • Instil a 'You build it, you run it' DevOps culture among development teams, promoting ownership of the full project lifecycle from design through to deployment and maintenance.
  • Work effectively with Product Managers and Product Owners to ensure delivery against agreed priorities.
  • Identify and implement technology trends that will be able to support the future success of the business
  • Collaborate with Security teams to ensure the security of your product, driving best security practices within your area.
  • Contribute to the hiring process to ensure the successful growth and development of our team.
  • Performance reviews of team members. 
  • Collaborate closely with the VP of Engineering to ensure alignment with the broader company technology vision and strategy.

 

 

Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of software engineering experience, with at least 5 years of management leading organizations with 50+ employees
  • Proficiency in Java, AWS, and Kubernetes.
  • Proven experience leading multiple scrum teams and implementing Agile methodologies.
  • Strong background in strategic planning and cost management.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholders and translate business needs into technical requirements.
  • Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), with a proven track record of delivering high-quality software on time.
  • Experience working with OKRs and aligning team objectives with company goals.
  • Experience managing remote teams and participating in hiring processes.
  • Familiarity with best security practices and collaborating with Security teams.
  • Demonstrated success with the 'You build it, you run it' approach and fostering a culture of ownership among teams.
