Software System Test Engineer – Electronics

THE ROLE
This quite unique role is looking for a software test engineer with some electrical engineering or electrician knowledge/background. The majority of this role would be software testing but also a bit of testing on electronics. The software tester will be responsible for creating test plans from product requirements, executing customer centric tests, & working within multi-disciplinary product design teams.
THE SKILLS
- Strong software testing experience, perhaps across regression/ exploratory/ integration.
- Both manual & automation testing – the ability to execute automated tests or basic scripting in Python or C# would be big bonus
- Some awareness of hardware testing or electronics, eg, square waveforms & oscillators, signal generators
- Defect reporting, eg, JIRA/ Bugzilla
- Ability & willingness to learn & understand complex products
OTHER USEFUL SKILLS (NOT REQUIRED)
- Knowledge of different automation frameworks
- Test management tooling like TestRail
- API testing
- STEM Degree
