Our client have an office site in Glasgow, though this role is open to fully remote candidates within Scotland.
About the Role
Our client have a vacancy for x2 Technical Support Engineers to join their growing Technical Support Department. The role will be predominately focused on providing Technical Support to Customers & Partners, dealing with customer escalation queries, and QA.
Essential Skills:
- Minimum of 2 years experience of working within technical support or within a previous customer-facing technical support role
- Knowledge of a Database Technology – e.g. Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle DB and network configuration
- Experience of WebLogic or alternative (Tomcat, JBoss, Websphere)
- Experience supporting software applications to a wide range of customers
- Experience of troubleshooting and resolving issues in an application support role
- Excellent communication and written communication skills
Desired Skills:
- Exposure to Test Driven Development & Agile practises
- Networking
- TCP/IP, DNS, LDAP, WMI, Single Sign ON
- Experience of using Confluence & JIRA
- Experience of virtualization – VMWare vSphere, Citrix
- Experience of programming and debugging
- Experience of UNIX (Linux, Ubuntu, RedHat, Centos)
